Support, Awareness. Education and Advocacy Funding
A portion of funds collected by MSA United from donations and other funding sources will be directed toward efforts to help patients currently suffering from the disease, to support the education of medical professionals and to develop awareness campaigns around the world. In order to conduct these activities, to do so in the most economically viable way and to have a greater impact, MSA United will work with both the members of the Consortium but also with other partnering organizations outside of the Consortium, to bring about our support, educational and awareness objectives.

MSA Research Funding
Member charities in MSA United Research Consortium pool a portion of their funds toward research to cure or slow Multiple System Atrophy. Using a unique platform for grants management, MSA United puts out a call for research proposals (RFP) every two years. Administrators in research program consult volunteer scientific and medical advisory advisory board (SMAB) to develop its global strategy, evaluate promising proposals and rank those proposals in a peer-review structure. Researchers on the MSA United Scientific and Medical Advisory Board (SMAB) come from multiple countries and represent the world’s experts in the field.
Despite being in its infancy, MSA United has already funded a half million dollars in much needed research and this year (2025) is expected to fund a half million more in vital research dollars. Uniquely, MSA United Research Consortium operates without salaried employees, ensuring all donations directly support the mission. It is the only research consortium in the world.
